Cake Ventures invests in pre-seed and seed stage companies, backing founders with global ambitions who are creating products that meet the needs of tomorrow’s consumers. As a thesis-driven generalists who invest across sectors into companies that reflect changing demographics, including: aging and longevity, the increased spending power of women, and the shift to majority-minority, we were tasked with showcasing Cake VCs mantra, their ethos behind the companies they invest in and why they invest in startups.
Our team performed a Brand Discovery and audit of the VC marketplace in search of design inspiration and relevat user experiences that made it easy for startups to apply and for partners to decide if they would like to collaborate wih Cake to continue their efforts.
Client’s Sitemap Development
Cake Ventures needed help devising a sitemap strategy that would:
One of our priorities with the project was to create a visually stunning way to showcase companies. We designed the UX around a cool and innovative way to showcase the company's Cake Ventures was invested in. In the showcase, users would be able to view them in list and visual formats.
While developing the sitemap, we also designed visual concepts for the refresh. We were going for a minimal and simple design with a palette of design colors to properly reflect the brand core ideals with images.
With Webflow, we could create a beautiful design on both desktop and mobile with a consistent Insights page design, company pages and dynamic visuals that accent the visual design systems of the layout.
After a 90 day sprint, Brand Discovery and iterations which included sitemap development and wireframe design based on historical data and analytics history, we built 1 cohesive platform for browsing Cake Ventures, completing website forms and browsing companies. With a load time of 300ms, the website loads lightning fast and received daily inquiries from potential partnerships.
